Blogger’s Quilt Festival, Spring 2015

It's time again for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!
I didn't enter anything last year (slapping hand), but everyone seemed to have had so much fun that I'm jumping on the band wagon and entering Twist in the Hand Quilting category:

So, so happy they added the hand quilting spots last year.

Well, wish me luck! But please go vote, even if you don't vote for mine. You'll be supporting something great!

And the first seeds to germinate this year....Sunset mix heirloom Italian peppers from Renee's Garden!

I am not at all shocked. Her seeds are almost always the first out-of-the-gate every single year!

If you get a chance to order seeds from her, seriously, do it. You won't be disappointed!

A new start

I got the media kit from Renee's Garden in the mail and boy, oh boy was it just the kick-start I needed!
I'm actually excited to get back into the gardening since we've acquired a new roto-tiller.
Since last year was such a bust with the weather, I'm hoping this year will treat our garden a little better...I'll really, really be needing to can and freeze veg and fruit this year, unfortunately.
Can't wait to get some onion seed started later this month.
Thanks for pulling up that excitement that has been missing for so long, Renee!!

I Give Up!

Well, as it stands right now, I've given up on all of my flowerbeds. I just can't deal with the quack grass any more and it has taken over 90 percent of the beds. I've waved the white flag of surrender. The quack grass wins! It's the only thing I hate about living in the country surrounded by farm fields that never get mown. ~sigh~

I'll continue the war in the veg garden, though. We might have an ugly lawn, but we still gotta eat!
